Emily Reynolds, M.A., Director -- Author, Executive Trainer, Instructional Designer
Ms. Reynolds holds a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from San Francisco State University. The former Director of Business English Programs at the Economics Institute, University of Colorado, she has directed programs, designed courses and curriculum, written materials and taught at all levels. She has co-authored nine textbooks, primarily in Business English. Recently she won International TESOL's Award for Excellence in the development of Materials for the series English for Global Business (University  of Michigan Press, 2001) with Kathy Thorpe. A frequent presenter at international conferences and online workshops, Ms. Lites has served in numerous leadership positions in the professional organization TESOL. She founded BizEnglish in 1997 and currently directs the development of online and onsite programs.

Sue Mackarness, Director of Teacher Training, Author, Executive Trainer, Program Director, President Transworld Trainers
Ms. Mackarness has worked in the TEFL field for 35 years. Born in the UK, she was raised and educated in England, the USA and South Africa. Ms. Mackarness’ career started in the UK where she was a founding member of the London Study Center and the EF Gazette. Since the 1970’s, she has taught English and trained teachers in 16 countries, including the UK, USA, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Korea and Ecuador. In 1990, Ms. Mackarness co-founded Transworld Teachers and Transworld English, San Francisco. She was also the co-founder and co-President of Transworld Schools, San Francisco. Ms. Mackarness is the author of the American TEFL manual and her original TEFL course has become the model for many Teacher Training Schools in the USA and elsewhere. In 1996, she was one of the finalists for Woman Entrepreneur of the year award (NAWBO) and was featured in “INC” magazine.

Anne Bliss, Ph.D., Author, Editor, University Professor, Executive Trainer
Dr. Bliss received her Ph.D. in Multicultural Education  from the University of Colorado. She has taught all  levels of English language acquisition and is a  specialist in ESL pronunciation, reading, writing, and web-based distance learning. She is currently with the University of Colorado, University Writing Center,  where she serves as ESL Coordinator, Faculty  Teaching Excellence Program Technology Liaison,  and Diversity Coordinator. Dr. Bliss  also writes and  teaches web-based courses as an adjunct instructor  through the  university's College of Continuing  Education. In addition, Dr. Bliss is an author and editor,  reviewing new text books in for numerous publishers.  She presents papers nationally and internationally at  educational conferences and has taught and trained  teachers in Russia, Vietnam, Mexico, and China in addition to her work in the United States.

  David O'Reilly, B. Comm., MBA, Author
Mr. O'Reilly is originally from Ireland and has traveled extensively through europe, Southeast Asia and North America. He has worked in various management positions in European, North American and Japanese corporations. In Japan, his work included the development of communication processes to improve the efficacy of multicultural management teams. Mr. O'Reilly currently resides in British Columbia, Canada where he is the Director of Curriculum for an international college and where he teaches courses in International Business.

Judee Reel, M.A., Author, Executive Trainer
Ms. Reel earned her Master's degree in Applied Linguistics (TESOL) from Indiana University in 1992. She has taught participants of all levels and all skills and conducted workshops and seminars on teaching English for Specific Purposes in numerous universities and conferences throughout the world. In 1993, she taught  Business English writing, presentations, and marketing to advanced-level speakers at the International Trade Institute (ITI) in Taiwan. At the International University of Japan (IUJ) in Niigata Prefecture in 1995, she prepared students for graduate work in International Relations. She has also taught in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Ms. Reel has published numerous papers which she has presented at professional conferences in the U.S. and the widely-acclaimed Professional Presentations, University of Michigan Press.

Kathy Thorpe, M.A., Author, Executive Trainer
Ms. Thorpe completed her Master's degree at the University of Colorado. She is active in business English materials writing, course design, and has coordinated business English programs at the University of Colorado at Denver, the Economics Institute and the University of California at Berkeley. She has written several articles and books on business English, including Doing Business in English, Books 1, 2, and 3 (1995 with Emily Reynolds); and English for Global Business (University of Michigan Press, 2001 with Emily Reynolds). English for Global Business won the Mary Finocchiaro Award for Excellence in the Development of Pedagogical Materials, TESOL's highest award for materials writing. Ms. Thorpe is active in TESOL and a frequent speaker on business English topics at national and international conferences.
