   Technical Requirements

 
When you begin training in an online environment, 
it is important to make sure you have 
the necessary technology. Please check below 
and contact us with any questions.
 
Multimedia Pentium computer (with sound card and microphone for oral skills courses).

Internet Explorer 4.0 (or higher) OR Netscape 4.0 (or higher).

For writing courses, MS Word.
For listening/speaking courses, PureVoice plugin. See below. 


Flash technology is used to hear all the sounds in our courses. It is included in your browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator). If your browser needs updating, you may be redirected to MacroMedia's website when you try to click on sounds in our courses. There you can download a plugin to your computer so that you can hear the sounds in our courses.

PureVoice is used to digitally record your voice and send to your instructor for feedback and "audio editing." If you use Eudora for email, you already have PureVoice. If not, follow the directions below. Then you will be ready to record your voice and send the file to your instructor using any email service.

Directions to Download PureVoice. It's quick and easy!
1. Exit all other programs on your computer.
2. Click on Download Pure Voice image above. Then click on same image when you arrive at the new site.
3. Click on the correct link for your system: v1.3.2 for Windows  OR v2.0 for ALL Macintosh Models (OR Unix links)
4. When the file download box pops up, choose Save to Disk and OK.
5. When the download is complete, click on Open to install PureVoice in a short step-by-step process.
